What will I learn from these special lessons?
For Japanese people, the sight of the leaves changing color gracefully is one of the most elegant autumn pleasures.
Did you know that the term “Momiji-hunting” is used to refer to the appreciation of the changing colors of the trees?
The culture of enjoying autumn leaves dates back to the Nara and Heian periods (8th to 12th centuries).
The Manyoshu is the oldest collection of Japanese poetry in Japan, which contains more than 100 poems about maple trees. In the past, aristocrats who would hold parties while viewing the autumn foliage composed waka poems about its beauty.
Would you like to learn how to write a Waka poem all by yourself?
During our “Sado – 茶道” session, apart from learning how to write Waka poems, you will get a great understanding of Japanese culture as well.
At WE, we believe that to truly be able to understand and speak a language, it is essential to understand its cultural background of it.
Through only 4 lessons you will learn to identify flowers of each season in Japan, sweets, and also annual events. Other important topics include learning how to write waka poems and Zen words that represent spring.
Finally, in these lessons, you will also get introduced to seasonal tea utensils and a demonstration of table style tea ceremony.
Learn about everything that happens in a Japanese tea ceremony and more, all in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
